My name is Talaat Abdelhamid. I am a final year Ph.D. student from Egypt. I was awarded the CSC Scholarship in 2014 to study a doctoral degree in the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
I attained my bachelor degree in Minia University, Egypt in 2006 field of Science, then further attained my Master Degree in Applied Mathematics from the same university in 2013, where I was awarded an Excellent Honors Grade.
In 2014, I was appointed Assistant Lecturer at Menoufya University in Egypt.
I am now pursuing a Doctoral Degree under the supervision of Professor Daijun Jiang. He and prof. Jun Zou have had a profound effect on my achievements, through constantly encouraging me to be a researcher. I was subsequently invited to Shenzen Institute of Advanced Technology as a visiting student by Professor Jun Zou and Professor Xiao Chuan Cai. I want to express my cordial gratitude to them. Also, many thanks to Prof. Zhou Bo the deputy director, international students' affairs office and all the staffs in the office of international students for providing the facilities to the international students.
I am happy to say that I have been awarded the following awards in China and Egypt:
2017 the winner of Zhou Hongyu Scholarship CCNU, China.
2015- 2016 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award CCNU, China.
2014- 2015 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award CCNU, China.
2008- 2009 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award Minia University, Egypt.
Recently, I have published in more than 5 SCI papers with high impact factors.
China and CCNU were my academic destination of choice. Coming to China and CCNU was a way of honoring my beloved late supervisor’s wish, may his soul rest in peace.
I came to China without any idea as to what China was like, how the people were like or even how the food would be like. But because CCNU is a highly culturally diverse environment that offers multi-faceted opportunities. Today, I live in China with my wife and two children. We enjoy Halaal food, which is available in many stores. I have had the opportunity to explore China by visiting various tourist areas.
As a Muslim student, I thought it is difficult to find Halal food, but in CCNU everything is convenient, and I never fall any problem for my beliefs and other things.
My publications were key in my ability to achieve the Honorable award. I therefore wish to take this moment to first thank Almighty Allah for the guidance, my parents, family, professors and supervisors who helped me to come to this place.
This semester I will be graduating and if I get the opportunity, I will proceed to pursue a post-doctoral research in China. My aspiration is to be a profound and reputable scientist and mathematician and contribute positively to humanity. Some of my mathematician role models are Al khawarizmi, Einstein, Ibn Haiyan and Hasan Al Basri.
I would like to urge you, my fellow students and colleagues to pursue your dreams and never be afraid of failures because in the end, the effort will be worth it.
